Upload Custom Background Image

Step 1: Images must be hosted on initialstate.com, init.st, or unsplash.com domains or they will not load. Custom images can be submitted via email to contact@initialstate.com for review. Once approved a link containing the image asset will be emailed back (e.g. https://go.init.st/images/process1.png). 

*This manual submission process is only temporary until we release a secure, self-service image uploading service for your account.

Step 2: Click on Edit Tiles at the top left of your Tiles dashboard and select Change Background from the top menu. Paste the link to the image in the search bar (e.g. https://go.init.st/images/process1.png). A preview of the image will appear. If a preview does not appear, double check the link inserted into the search bar. Select the image to apply it to the background. 

Advanced Options

Scale photo to fill workspace - Select this option to fill the entire Tiles background with the selected image. When selected, tiles will change position related to the background image at different resolutions / screen sizes. Unselect this option if you want very precise control over where tiles line up in relation to the background. When unselected, the background image will be displayed at its exact resolution. 

Tile Transparency - Choose the transparency level of tiles under the Advanced menu in Background Settings. The transparency level is under the Tile Color option. Click the Tile Color box and move the bottom slider to set the transparency level. As the slider moves, the transparency level will update to preview your changes. Tiles can be made completely transparent by sliding the transparency slider all the way to the left.

Tile Color - Tile color (just the individual tile background color) can be selected under the Advanced menu in the Background Settings. The color can be selected via the color picker or by inputing a 32-bit hex color value into the input field at the top.
