Legacy Accounts & Data Migration

New IoT Streaming Service

Moving to the new streaming service is the only way to gain access to our new features such as temperature & water gauges, hidden timeline, gauge color thresholds, light theme, and more. The Legacy service will be shut down on August 1, 2022, so it is recommended you move to the new streaming service immediately.

Data Migration Plan

All active Legacy service users have now had their streaming buckets migrated to iot.app.initialstate.com from app.initialstate.com. We encourage you to login to the new streaming service (iot.app.initialstate.com) simply using your same email address. Once you can confirm all data buckets are accounted for you can then deactivate your Legacy (app.initialstate.com) account. You will need to enter your credit card information into the new service since that information was not migrated.**

Bucket shares are not migrated so users are encouraged to share their buckets from the new streaming service once they log in. Existing Triggers will no longer work. Old access keys do not work with the new Trigger system, so to use Triggers you must create new access keys. All new streams and buckets should use the new ist_ prefixed access keys to ensure access to new streaming features. 

Professional Plan Users, $30/mo or $300/yr

If you were on this plan you will see some changes from Legacy to the new service. File Uploads are not available anymore and Lines is not available.

Personal Plan Users, $10/mo or $100/yr

If you were on this plan you will be paying almost the same amount but now you get access to Triggers, Public Shares, and iFrame embeds. 

Basic Plan Users, $6.50/mo or $60/year

If you were on this plan you will gain more access to features on the new service. The new streaming service is a price increase but you get access to Triggers, Real-Time Expressions, Public Shares, and iFrame embeds.

Free Plan Users

There is a free plan offered on the new service for any students with an edu email address that also includes 3 months of data retention, Real-Time Expression, Public Shares, and iFrame embeds. Otherwise, you will need to upgrade to the Individual tier on the new service.

**If you were on this plan you will need to register for a new account on the new streaming service (iot.app.initialstate.com). Data from these accounts are not migrated so if migration is needed please contact support.

Closing Your Legacy Account & Account Credits

Once you have confirmed that all data and buckets are migrated to your new account (unless you are a Free Plan user), you can close your Legacy account. To do this go to the Legacy site (app.initialstate.com) and go to My Account. Under the Security section you will see a check box for Close My Account. Select this, enter your password in the Account Password box in the bottom right, and click the Apply Changes button.

If you have paid for an annual account on Legacy, we can transfer a prorated credit to your new streaming service account. Please reach out to support@initialstate.com to have credits transferred. 

Credit Card Information

Your credit card information is not migrated so you will need to enter this again in the new streaming service. You are given a 14 day free trial and then payment will be required, whether that is credit from your Legacy account or a credit card.
